Mission Statement
Highlands County Action for Animals
exists
to provide a centralized resource for issues concerning
animals in Highlands County, Florida, as well as to promote
compassion towards all animals.
This website is dedicated to:
- Providing information to help reduce pet overpopulation
by encouraging the spaying and neutering of companion
and feral animals.
- Promoting the adoption of shelter pets in part by occasionally
placing ads in local newspapers that point to this website's
Adopt A Pet page, which provides links to local adoption
organizations.
- Alleviating the conditions that lead to pet abandonment
through the listing of pet-friendly rental housing and
pertinent links to information for renters, rental managers,
and landlords.
- Providing links to resources dealing with pets,
animal welfare / animal rights, and wildlife.
