The Lake Wales Ridge is home to plants and animals found nowhere else on Earth. Because of development, less than 20,000 of the original 200,000 acres of upland habitat remain. As a volunteer, you can help to protect what is left of this fragile ecosystem.

Sanctuaries

Elmira's Wildlife Sanctuary - Provides continuing care, life management and enrichment to exotic and wild animals in need of a home. The organization also provides educational opportunities and programs to increase community awareness of the needs of these animals.
